Our studio is professionally equipped with professional tools to create pottery at its highest level, bringing
Consumers items that are both esthetically pleasing, as well as artistic detailing to functional wares. We only use materials that are of the highest quality. Our functional wares are both durable as well as esthetically pleasing to the consumer; not only beautiful to look at, a pleasure to use, but meeting today’s standards for being microwavable, oven proof, as well as dishwasher safe. Both our artistic items, as well as our functional wares are created to last virtually thousands of years. We bring Art to the home, as well as the table. We specialize in creating unique wares whether designing our own, or creating works at the customer’s request to particular specifications, and color schemes. Our goal is to work with consumers and deliver exceptional customer service, which is at times currently lacking in society.
We have been fortunate to learn pottery techniques from many professional potters, both nationally, and internationally known; Jill Tortorella, Tony Winchester, Tony Ferguson, Neil Estrick, Po Wen Liu,
Xiaosheng Bi, Yosuke Koizumi, Robin Hopper and most recent Ana Trillo, “Mata Ortiz” potter. As artists, we are dedicated to creating pottery, studying a wide range from ancient works to today’s 21st century greats, as well as a variety of cultural styles.
Mid-fire Stoneware cone 5/ 6 with a large choice of forms and shapes, many varieties of glaze choices and the most shock resistant, utilized to create truly unique styles and designs; from food service wares, oven wares, to wall hangings, including unique tiles.
Raku styles offer a wide range from the ancient styles and forms to truly modern one-of-a-kind pieces. The glazing techniques are unique and varied creating unusual colors and surfaces from ancient to modern creating a one of a kind piece due to the nature of firing and glazing variables. Items can be similar but never duplicated. Raku is not food safe-these are artistic expressions in ceramic medium.
Earthenware items utilize the most ancient form of pottery. Earthenware is chosen for jewel like glazes, or when the design is called upon to be a more painterly technique. Detail as fine as a human hair can be obtained through these techniques: faience, majolica. Items are food safe although due to their more delicate nature and lower firing temperatures these items are not microwavable or oven proof. Nonetheless this technique can truly create beautiful, delicate, and highly desirable works.
Each piece is handled approximately 12 times from beginning to end. Our studio is committed to creating items that the consumer desires. For those consumers who do not want to be involved in the creative process we also offer our own private works for sale. We are a small private studio whose goal is to provide the discriminating buyer with beautiful pottery to be proud of for use or display. We have no intention of mass production of items. Our products are reasonable priced and fair, keeping the tradition of truly who and what a potter represents through the ages.
